More Work From Home Office Must-Haves To Add To Your Amazon Cart Now

The District Maven team has never been shy about our love of the work from home lifestyle. From the day we opened for business until now, our entire team has operated remotely and thrives that way. We understand that not everyone is like that, and that's okay. Even after a few years of pandemic-induced telecommuting, many professionals who are used to a traditional office setting struggle to find their groove working from home.

Since this is something that our team has significant experience with, we recently posted a list of our can't-live-without office supplies from Amazon to make the transition easier. (We still stand behind all of those earlier recommendations, by the way!)

However, since construction is nearly finished with District Maven’s BRAND NEW headquarters (see the progress here), we felt that this topic was worth revisiting. Check out the following list for a new, updated round-up of excellent WFH products we've outfitted our new office with and absolutely love. (Plus, none of these will break the bank and can be ordered on Amazon now!)

WiFi Extender

There are few things more annoying while telecommuting than battling slow internet speeds – especially if you need the network to extend further than it currently does. My new office is at my home but is a separate building from my actual house, making connecting to high-speed internet a challenge.

I found that a wireless extender is a great solution, as it is super easy to set up and gives you significantly more room to roam when it comes to your workstation setup. My laptop and smart tv run simultaneously using the networks provided by the extender, which is a bonus for such a low price tag.

Bluetooth Headband Headphones

Don’t let the mouthful of a name fool you – this headband with built-in headphones has been a literal lifesaver recently both at home and at work.

While this product first caught my eye for personal reasons (i.e. ways to sleep while my husband snores) it has proved to be an invaluable work from home tool as well. Airpods are great and all, but these are far more comfortable to wear and easier to use when being active at work.

Monitor Originally Meant For Online Gaming

Don’t get me wrong, I still love my portable laptop monitor and use it all the time. Yet after years of staring a screen for hours on end, it was clear that I needed a larger, more substantial screen for daily use. This monitor has proven to be an enormous upgrade, especially while looking at and writing intensive code. Its size is cool and all but it really is the clarity of the screen that makes it a must-have item.

Pro Tip: In my experience, the best monitors are originally intended for digital gaming and not those classified as "office" monitors. These people take this hobby very seriously, and it is clearly reflected in the gear they use for it. As such, the screens they use to play for extended periods are always of the highest quality, and it is way easier on aging eyes!

Area Rug

There is something downright cool and adult-like about having a beautiful area rug adorn your workspace. After all, in all fairness, most professionals spend a significant amount of time in their workspace of choice, so having a cozy and inviting atmosphere is key to maintaining a productive workflow.

While this multicolored rug fits my new office perfectly and is entirely on brand, there are many other options on Amazon that will suit any style preference. The point here is that having one is a worthy WFH purchase and makes any office (even those inside your home) look and feel more professional.

Mini Fridge

Okay, I admit it. I did feature a more expensive (but nonetheless really cool) mini fridge on my last Amazon home office best buys list – but even I wasn't ready to spend that kind of cash on what could be considered an extravagant home office purchase. However, upon moving into District Maven's office bungalow, I quickly realized having something to keep beverages chilled close to my desk was something I legitimately needed.

So once I saw this adorable, portable mini fridge, I immediately added it to my cart and haven't regretted it for a second. Not only is it a much cheaper drink refrigeration option, but it could also be taken outside the office and has several color options to choose from. (Plus, it has a warming option and works like a charm!)

Oversized Dog Bed

It wouldn't be right if I didn't end this list on something that actually was a frivolous office purchase. If you are really into having your dog with you at all times (and slightly obsessed with them, like I am with mine), then something comfy to relax on while you're working away is essential.

It doesn't have to be anything fancy. (I love my puppy so much that I momentarily debated buying this overly boujee one for him.) Something simple such as this bed for medium and large-sized dogs would be more than enough to get your pet to curl up next to your desk for a few hours.

If you want to take their chill-zone experience up a notch, however, I recommend getting this shaded bed for outdoor use. It will keep your pup cooler in warmer temperatures and, best of all, is Instagram-worthy!
