Whenever a client opens a new venue, it is always an exciting but busy week. Last week, was insane — I had two new restaurants open in the Washington D.C. area! In addition to Don Taco in Old Town Alexandria, the latest to open its doors is Takoda DC. Located on the north-end of DC’s trendy Shaw neighborhood, this bilevel restaurant and beer garden pays a considerable amount of attention to detail. Examples of seen not only in the deliberately decorated exposed brick walls and delicately tiled bar on the rooftop, but also in the menu and staff as well. (They only serve Sriracha-infused ketchup and their entire staff dons Converse chucks.) From the two guys who brought the District The Huxley, I’d expect nothing less.
