National Air & Space Museum
The Museum on the National Mall displays famous icons of flight: the original Wright Flyer, the Spirit of St. Louis, the Mercury Friendship 7 capsule that was piloted by John Glenn, SpaceShipOne, and a touchable lunar rock.
Free guided tours are offered daily at 10:30 am and 1:00 pm. Interactive activities are available for younger visitors in the "How Things Fly" gallery and Design Hangar. Visitors can also take in an IMAX movie or Planetarium show, or test out their piloting skills in a flight simulator (fees apply),
New: Audio tours are available for those wishing to gain insight while exploring the Museum's collection on their own. Tours are offered in English, French, Mandarin, and Spanish (fees apply, discounts offered for groups of two or more).
Extended hours (10:00 am - 7:30 pm) may be available during cherry blossom season and the summer. To verify late hours call 202-633-1000 or check the website at airandspace.si.edu.
