Washington DC Summer Is In Bloom At Whyte House Monograms

Washington DC is beautiful any time of year, but it is especially glorious during the spring and summer months. Not only is the weather warm and sunny, but local vendors embody the spirit of the season in more ways than one. No where was summer more in bloom than at Whyte House Monograms, located in the luxurious Chevy Chase neighborhood. Their shop is brightly colored and inviting, with a seemingly endless number of apparel, accessories, travel, home and entertainment products just waiting to be personalized.

Dreams For Kids DC and Washington Redskins Host Charity Football Clinic

There is little the District Maven team loves more than working with our clients for a good cause. (Other than really great marketing, of course!) That's why we were so excited to be the photographers last Saturday at the 2018 Dreams For Kids DC Football Recess clinic, co-hosted with the Washington Redskins and Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation. Hosted at Redskins Park in Ashburn, VA, this adaptive clinic brought together professional players and children with physical and developmental disabilities to play together and have fun in the sun!

Why Kristin Cavallari’s Social Media Girl Is An Employer’s Biggest Nightmare

Why Kristin Cavallari’s Social Media Girl Is An Employer’s Biggest Nightmare

Let me start off this post with a few disclaimers. One, my secret guilty pleasure of late has been watching E!'s newest reality show, Very Cavallari -- and two, that it actually made me see the former Laguna Beach star in an entirely new light. While Cavallari's quick wit, direct demeanor and life-of-the-party attitude are still firmly intact, the budding commercial empire she's humbly been building for the better part of a decade is truly impressive.

District Maven Marketing Co-Sponsors Box at Fall International Gold Cup

There are few events more popular in Northern Virginia (or loved by yours truly) than Virginia Gold Cup. This biannual steeplechasing event is as historic as it is legendary and infamous. Not only has this been a time-honored tradition in Virginia since 1844, it happens to also be a fantastic opportunity to network and socialize.

Spring is in full bloom and it is that time of year where new beginnings just feel… right. In the spirit of the season, we’re excited to have some of our newest clients open for business and hit the ground running! The most recent of late: Bar Bao, an Asian Fusion concept located in the heart of Arlington’s Clarendon neighborhood. Rent The Runway’s Customer Rating Platform: A Model For Us All

I’ve always said that most things in life, from relationship building to advertising, stem from trust and experience. Keeping these core values in mind when developing a marketing strategy is key. Companies are successful because they develop a connection with their customers, ultimately building a level of trust and laying out what doing business with them would be like.

DC Throwback Thursday: WHCD Moments Worth Remembering

DC Throwback Thursday: WHCD Moments Worth Remembering

Hundreds (if not thousands) of events happen in Metro Washington every season, but the White House Correspondents Dinner has to be amongst my absolute favorites. Undoubtedly one of the biggest affairs of the year, “Nerd Prom,” (as it is affectionately referred to) is one of the few that specifically caters to the media industry. It is also a favorite amongst these professionals (such as yours truly) as WHCD is one of the rare moments in which a laundry list of notable celebrities can be spotted around town. Asking Glee star Kevin McHale if he found dancing in a wheelchair difficult, talking social activism with Wilmer Valderrama and spotting Tracey Morgan mean-mugging on the red carpet will always remain nostalgic career highlights for me.

Takoda DC Takes Over As Newest It Restaurant & Beer Garden In Shaw

Whenever a client opens a new venue, it is always an exciting but busy week. Last week, was insane — I had two new restaurants open in the Washington D.C. area! In addition to Don Taco in Old Town Alexandria, the latest to open its doors is Takoda DC. Located on the north-end of DC’s trendy Shaw neighborhood, this bilevel restaurant and beer garden pays a considerable amount of attention to detail. Examples of seen not only in the deliberately decorated exposed brick walls and delicately tiled bar on the rooftop, but also in the menu and staff as well. (They only serve Sriracha-infused ketchup and their entire staff dons Converse chucks.) From the two guys who brought the District The Huxley, I’d expect nothing less. And from the hoards of press coverage on Takoda (here, here, here and here) it seems like Washingtonians agree.

New Old Town Alexandria Taco & Tequila Spot Open For Business

Excited to announce that today is the official opening of Don Taco, my newest client to hit the Northern Virginia restaurant scene. Located on historic King Street in Old Town, this Alexandria taco and tequila bar is expected to be a closely related sister restaurant to their hugely popular and A-Town Bar & Grill in North Arlington. Given the repeated success of this hospitality group, one would have no doubts that Don Taco (and the heavily anticipated in Rosslyn) would be equally as successful.
